Milwaukee Film Festival

Fairly new to Milwaukee? The Milwaukee Film Festival has escalated to a grand event. For those moving to Milwaukee, the festival is an event you will want to mark on your calendar and be sure to attend. The 2014 turnout is expected to be a complete sell-out!

This year’s film festival is featuring hundreds of films from all around the world. During the 15 day event, 276 films will be presented in seven locations so be sure to get your tickets and attend before the event ends on October 9th.

A constant buzz was heard around town as the lineup of featured films was released in early September. Films such as: “Jimi: All Is by My Side”, “Man with a Movie Camera”, “Ernest & Celestine”, and hundreds more. With the amount of films to be seen at The Milwaukee Film Festival, it is best to plan ahead and prioritize you top must-see films.

Taking the cake, Milwaukee’s Film Festival was even able to land an Oscar winning filmmaker. Milwaukee native, John Ridley, agreed to make a last-minute appearance to present his short film on Jimi Hendrix. Don’t know who John Ridley is? You may know him as the screenwriter for the popular film “12 Years a Slave” so expect “Jimi: All Is by My Side” to be another must-see Ridley film.

New to the Milwaukee area or currently looking to relocate? If you just so happened to miss the Milwaukee Film Festival this year, there is always next year. The Milwaukee Film Festival is a fine wine that gets better as the years go by so be sure to mark your calendar and enjoy next year’s plethora of films.
