1. Northwestern Mutual Tower. Labeled an “economic catalyst for the community,” Northwestern Mutual announced that they would not only be keeping their headquarters downtown, but that they would be adding a new high-rise office tower to it. This will not only save 1,100 jobs downtown, but it will also create 1,900 new ones – along with keep Milwaukee movers very busy.
2. Lakefront Gateway Project. This $34 million city, county, and state plan will extend Lincoln Memorial Drive and relocate 1-794 ramps. By doing this, unused land will become available for future development and the improvement of public spaces.
3. The North End. The Mandel Group is responsible for the development of a new Milwaukee neighborhood, known as the North End. To date, they have brought 231 market apartments and thousands of square feet of commercial space to downtown. In order to ensure that Milwaukee movers continue to have plenty of families to move to the North End, the group announced a $50 million project that will create 650 new apartments and a North End farmers market.
